Facilities Master Plan

In August 2013 architects prepared a 25-year master space and facilities plan for the various government departments and offices located in facilities throughout Monroe County.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Facilities Maintenance Department is to maintain all county buildings, grounds, constitutional offices, parks, and beaches at the highest level of quality and in the most efficient manner to provide employees, citizens, and visitors with clean, safe, and comfortable facilities.

Since 1995, Facilities Maintenance/Public Works has received funding from the Tourist Development Tax to offset labor and maintenance costs associated with county beaches and museums. The Tourist Development Tax has also funded various capital improvement projects at county beaches and museums.

Competitive bidding of construction contracts by sealed bids, Request for Proposals (RFPs), and RFQs are conducted by the department to ensure the best items and prices are received.
