Nutrition

Services

The Nutrition Program offers adults ages 60 years and older throughout the county delicious, nutritious meals and the opportunity to dine and socialize with friends.

C-1 Congregate Meal Program

The C-1 Congregate Meal Program provides meals and activities at four dining site locations in Key West, Big Pine Key, Marathon, and Plantation Key. Special functions include exercise programs, bingo, board games, cards, guest speakers, wellness programs, live entertainment, and holiday celebrations. The C-2 Program also delivers meals to homes of people over 60 who have serious medical problems.

Program Funding

Funding is provided from federal and state money through the Older Americans Act's Title III-C Grant, and allocated through the District XI Area Agency on Aging and the Alliance for Aging for Dade and Monroe Counties.

The Monroe County Board of County Commissioners provides local match funding for the grant. Contributions from program participants help to expand services.
