The Fire Marshal’s Office is committed to a Fire Prevention Program that places a high priority on the welfare and safety of the public while minimizing potential fire and life safety hazards. The Fire Marshal’s Office is responsible for fire prevention and education, plan reviews for permitted work and related construction inspections, and compliance with the Florida Fire Prevention Code, current edition.
Our goal is to provide a high level of life safety and property protection measures for the community and first responders through our inspection services, educational events, and enforcement of the Code.
Responsibilities
The Monroe County Fire Marshal’s Office is dedicated to protecting Monroe County citizens in reducing the risks that cause loss of life and property due to fire and related hazards. This department is dedicated to fire prevention education, fire investigations, and commercial and vacation rental compliance inspections. The Monroe County Fire Marshal’s office covers unincorporated Monroe County from Ocean Reef to Stock Island. Responsibilities include:
