• Repaving and restriping the road
• Installing new traffic signs as needed
• Repaving and restriping the northbound and
southbound outside shoulders to provide a five-foot
paved shoulder
• Upgrading drainage structures along the swales
• Repaving the Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail
PROJECT DATES
Construction is expected to begin in April 2013 and last about seven months.
POSSIBLE EFFECTS DURING CONSTRUCTION
Temporary road, lane and sidewalk closures during roadway construction during non-rush hours.
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC
Work will be done in phases to reduce effects of construction on the community. Driveways and entrances to homes and businesses will stay open. Any driveway work will be coordinated
with each property owner and done at a mutually convenient time.
NOTE:
Islamorada, Village of Islands is concurrently planning a major wastewater pipeline project along (and beyond) the FDOT project limits.
Representatives of Islamorada, Village of Islands will participate in the meeting to discuss the pipeline project.
In order to update the public on the status of the projects’ design and answer your questions, we invite you to join us: Wednesday September 19,2012 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Key Largo Public Library, 101485 Overseas Highway, Trade Winds Shopping Center, Key Largo FL 33037.
The meeting will follow an informal format allowing the public to arrive at any time from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Graphic displays will be shown and FDOT representatives will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. Your participation is encouraged and will give us the opportunity to listen to your comments and address any concerns that you may have. Public participation at this meeting is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, gender, religion, disability or family status.
