The Monroe County Board of County Commissioners established the Ad Hoc Committee on Noise on 5/16/95 by board motion.  The committee is composed of airport neighbors and representatives of the airline industry.  There is no set term for committee members.  Ad Hoc Committee meetings provide an opportunity to directly experience the viewpoints, ideas and concerns about noise at Key West International Airport.  The Ad Hoc Committee generally meets on a bi-monthly basis.

Each of the members represents one or more constituent interests: neighborhood residents, public agencies and aviation users.  The committee members act as a conduit for information to and from their constituents on issues related to airport and aircraft noise.
