The Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals was created January 29, 1996 with the adoption of Ordinance 001-1996 and is provided for in MC Code Section 6-56 - 6-58.  This board is governed by the same ordinances as those pertaining to the Contractors’ Examining Board.  The purpose of this board is to be an appeal’s board; this board hears discrepancies of interpretations of the current Codes.

The board shall consist of all the members of the Contractors’ Examining Board plus one registered architect and one registered professional engineer making it a twelve member board.  All are appointed by the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners.  Each member shall be selected for a period of three years.  Upon expiration of a member’s term, any member, regular or alternate, who has served in good standing and receives recommendation of a quorum of the Examining Board shall be eligible for reappointment with no limit on number of terms consecutive or otherwise.
