The Community Services Division oversees the overall operation of the Libraries, Social Services, Extension Services Departments, and Animal Control Shelters throughout Monroe County, which provide services to the public. This Division also coordinates all the meetings of the Florida Keys Council for People with Disabilities, was instrumental in getting the Dade-Monroe Express bus extended to go from Florida City to Marathon, and was instrumental in getting the Lower Keys Shuttle bus extended to go from Key West to Marathon.

Monroe County has Social Services Offices in Key West, Marathon, and Plantation Key. Social Services programs include In-Home Services, Nutrition, Community Support Services, Transportation, and Bayshore Manor. |

Monroe County has Extension Services Offices in Key West, and Key Largo. These offices in cooperation with the University of Florida, provide information on a variety of topics free to the public. |

The Dade-Monroe Express bus has now been extended to Marathon with scheduled stops in Key Largo (MM98), Tavernier (MM90), Islamorada (MM74), and Marathon (MM50). |
