Fire Prevention Week 2008 - PREVENT HOME FIRES
On October 4, 2008 Monroe County Fire Rescue joined Marathon Fire Rescue in an event at the Marathon Home Depot to “kick off” Fire Prevention Week 2008.
The pictures below are of the crews from Monroe County Fire Station # 13 of Big Pine Key and Fire Station # 17 of Conch Key performing an extrication exhibition with Trauma Star transporting the patient. This allowed our crews to spot light some of the other services that Monroe County Fire Rescue offers; vehicle extrication, patient care via ground crews, landing zones for helicopters, patient care via air crews, and helicopter transport.
The event also provided fire apparatus for public inspection and viewing, static displays that highlighted fire prevention, fire extinguisher usage using live fire, fire prevention give a-ways for the children, and a fire safety / fire escape trailer.
