Mission Statement
The mission of the Growth Management Division is to provide courteous and professional permitting, planning and development, code enforcement, and environmental protection services to the public and county agencies in a cost-effective manner, responsive to the policy direction from the Board of County Commissioners and in conformance with Federal and State regulations and the Monroe County Code.

The Growth Management Division includes four departments that promote and protect quality development in the County and the land and marine resources of the Florida Keys consistent with State and local regulations and the Monroe County Comprehensive Plan. These departments are Building, Planning and Environmental Resources, Code Enforcement, and Marine Resources.
The Growth management Division is committed to conserving, the unique environment and character of the diverse island communities of Monroe County.
