MCTV/76 has added two new features to our internet streaming
MCTV has added audio-only streaming compatible with I-Phones as well as Windows. We have provided the link to Audio-Only streaming above. If you need help configuring your I-Phone to receive our broadcast, please click here for detailed, but easy, instructions. Windows machines will bring up the audio-only stream in Windows Media Player.
We have also added a new feature to Video On Demand. In the video window you will find a link in the upper right corner called "Navigate." Clicking on "Navigate" will open a drop-down menu called "Search All Programs." Typing a search term into the search box will bring up a list of all instances of the term in the database and links to each corresponding video segment.
MCTV is the television outlet for Monroe County government. Our primary responsibility is to televise County meetings. We broadcast live all meetings of the Board of County Commissioners, the Monroe County Planning Commission, Code Enforcement, and the annual Monroe County budget hearings, as well as Marathon City Council, South Florida Water Management District, and other specially scheduled County meetings. Recordings of BOCC and Planning Commission can be borrowed from the Monroe County Library system. Additionally, MCTV is responsible for broadcast support in the event of a hurricane or other local emergency.
All televised County meetings will be rebroadcast during the week following their original broadcast. Follow the link above for MCTV broadcast schedules.
When not broadcasting live or videotaped programs, MCTV airs a video bulletin board and NOAA weather audio.
You can view Monroe County Television live on your computer. You will need an internet connection and Windows Media Player. Also, your computer should have at the very least a 233 megahertz processor, 64 megabytes of RAM, 16-bit sound card, 256-color video card, and 28.8 Kpbs modem. More helpful technical information is available by clicking the FAQ link. Click the View link above to view this service.
Select Video On Demand to view archived meetings. Choose a month from the calendar to see the list of meetings that month which are available On Demand. Selecting a specific meeting will open a window that most often includes the agenda for that meeting. Select any agenda item to navigate directly to that portion of the meeting. Meetings held prior to December, 2006, are not available.
The video you choose will take a few seconds to download and buffer before it begins to play. It may be necessary to turn off pop-up blocking software on your computer in order to allow downloads. If you do experience problems, turn off pop-up blocking software, or hold the "ctrl" (control) key on your keyboard while you click on the link. Some pop-up blocking software lets you decide whether to allow pop-ups from a particular site.
