U.S. 1 "The Stretch" Traffic Update
The northbound lane of U.S. 1 is scheduled to be closed at about Mile Marker (MM) 107 from 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m. on the nights of Tuesday, July 24, Wednesday, July 25, Thursday, July 26 and Monday, July 30. These lane closures are necessary so crews can work on the Jewfish Creek Bridge.
While one lane of U.S. 1 is closed, northbound and southbound traffic will use the other lane alternately, and a flagger will direct traffic through the work zone. Motorists might experience delays of up to 10 minutes during the closures, and can use Card Sound Road as an alternate route, but must pay the standard toll.
Watch for truck traffic and shoulder work throughout the construction zone. The speed limit is 35 mph from MM 106 to MM 108 and 45 mph from approximately MM 108 to MM 116.

SR-5 (US-1/Overseas Highway) (MM 73.74-MM 77.46)
Road construction continues on SR-5 (US-1/Overseas Highway) between Toll Gate Boulevard and the Lignumvitae Bridge. Motorists should allow extra time when transiting the area. For more information call 305-797-0962; or on the web, go to www.fdotmonroe.com.
State Road 5 (Overseas Highway/US 1)
One northbound lane or one southbound lane on the Overseas Highway between mile marker 85.8 and mile marker 86.8 will be closed at various locations sequentially daily, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, July 25, 2007 through July 27, 2007.
