Monroe County Fire Rescue Task Force recognized by BOCC

December 23, 2004 The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) recognized the Monroe County Fire Rescue Task Force with a resolution of appreciation at the December BOCC meeting. |
The BOCC unanimously passed a resolution that recognizes the exceptional efforts and service to the citizens of Charlotte County Florida by the Monroe County Fire Rescue Task force team performing emergency duty during the aftermath of Hurricane Charley.
The task force immediately responded to the Port Charlotte area after Hurricane Charley. They evacuated Port Charlotte Hospital patients to hospitals in neighboring counties. The team also rescued an elderly woman trapped in her trailer, responded to dozens of medical emergencies, and searched through hundreds of homes and businesses for people in need. The team worked tirelessly to assist the citizens of Charlotte County after Hurricane Charley.
