Overseas Highway/US 1 (SR 5)
May 10, 2007
Northbound traffic will be shifted to the east on to new pavement on
Thursday night, May 10, from Mile Marker (MM) 110 to MM 112.
The northbound lane of U.S. 1 will be closed between Mile Marker (MM)
106 and MM 108 from 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 10 and Monday, May
14. This lane closure is necessary so crews can work on the Jewfish
Creek Bridge.
While one lane of U.S. 1 is closed, northbound and southbound traffic
will use the other lane alternately, and a flagger will direct traffic
through the work zone. Motorists might experience delays of up to 10
minutes during the closures, and can use Card Sound Road as an alternate
route, but must pay the standard toll.
Watch for truck traffic and shoulder work throughout the construction
zone. The speed limit is 35 mph from MM 106 to MM 108 and 45 mph from
approximately Mile Marker (MM) 108 to MM 116.
