80th Anniversary celebration of the historic January 16, 1928 World’s First International Commercial Passenger Flight flown over water from Key West, Florida to Havana, Cuba

On Wednesday, January 16, 2008, from 5:00-6:00 p.m., the Monroe County Board of County Commissioners will hold a ceremony celebrating the 80th anniversary of an event in aviation history - the first ever international passenger flight over water, which flew from Key West to Havana, Cuba. This event will take place at the new McCoy Terminal Complex, currently under construction at the Key West International Airport. The public is invited to attend the celebration and enjoy light refreshments and entertainment. Special thanks to the Conch Flyer Restaurant for the kind donation of catering.
