Please note that these schedules are tentative and could be impacted by bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

U.S. 1 “The Stretch” Traffic Update

The northbound lane of U.S. 1 at about Mile Marker 107 will be closed from 8:30 p.m.-5:30 a.m. the nights of Tuesday, April 1 through Thursday, April 3; Monday, April 7; and 10 p.m.- 5:30 a.m. on Friday, April 4.

The southbound lane will also be closed at approximately Mile Marker 116 from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on Monday, April 7.

            While one lane of U.S. 1 is closed, northbound and southbound traffic will use the other lane alternately, and a flagger will direct traffic through the work zone. Motorists might experience delays of up to 10 minutes during the closures, and can use Card Sound Road as an alternate route, but must pay the standard toll.

            Watch for truck traffic and shoulder work throughout the construction zone. The speed limit is 35 mph from MM 106 to MM 108 and 45 mph from approximately MM 108 to MM 126.

CR 931 (Sombrero Beach Road) (From Sombrero Blvd to Avenida Primiceria)

One lane will be closed during construction only and the two lane traffic will be managed by flag men on each side. Lane closures shall occur only from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Monday through Friday.  Work may occur on Saturdays and lane closures will be limited and used only as necessary from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. Special attention and consideration will be made for school traffic and lane closures will not be permitted during school speed zone hours in the vicinity of the school zone.  Established speed limit within the work zone shall be 20 M.P.H.  Please obey the speed limit.  For more information call 305-797-0962; or contact us via email at info@fdotmonroe.com.

SR-5 (US-1/Overseas Highway) (MM 35.28-MM 36.56- Bahia Honda Bridge)

One Lane will be closed during the day Monday- Friday on the southbound Bahia Honda Bridge from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Please obey the speed limit. For more information call 305-797-0962; or contact us via email at info@fdotmonroe.com.

State Road 5 (US 1/Overseas Highway)

The lanes on Tom’s Harbor Cut Bridge (mile marker 61.6) are shifted weekdays, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, through April 30, 2008. Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority crews are performing utility work.

One northbound lane and one southbound lane on US 1 from mile marker 31.6 to mile marker 32.3 will be closed weeknights, from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, April 6, 2008 through May 8, 2008.

One northbound lane or one southbound lane on US 1 from mile marker 28.8 to mile marker 30.5 will be closed weekdays, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, April 7, 2008 through May 19, 2008. A flagging crew will be on site to direct traffic.

One southbound lane on North Roosevelt Boulevard from US 1 to Truman Avenue is closed daily, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, through April 25, 2008.
