Mission Statement
To maintain and improve all county roads and bridges and provide all citizens and visitors of Monroe County with a safe and visually enjoyable right-of-way in which to travel.

This section operates from locations in Key West, Marathon, and Plantation Key. Primary responsibility involves maintaining County roads and rights of way, bike paths and County bridges. This section is funded by Local Option and Constitutional Gas Tax Funds. Using the Seven Year Roadway and Bicycle Path Plan as a guide, the Department constructs, repairs and resurfaces roads and bridges throughout the County.

In addition, routine maintenance such as tree trimming, mowing, street sweeping, striping, signage, shoulder work and pothole repair is performed on a continuous basis. Road & Bridges is also responsible for storm clean up, debris removal, right-of-way repairs and additional storm-related projects.
