Monroe County In Home Services is a program that operates under the Monroe County Department of Social Services, as a provider of in-home support services to frail, impaired elderly persons (age 60 plus) and/or disabled adults (age 18-59 years), who are residents of Monroe County.
The programs goal is to offer an alternative to nursing home placement and also assists there individuals in their own homes or the homes of family or friends, to live dignified and reasonable independent lives.

ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE INITIATIVE PROGRAM (ADI)

State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs
The purpose of the Alzheimer's Disease Initiative (ADI) is to address the special needs of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) clients and their caregivers, as well as find through research the cause, treatment and ultimately a cure for AD. There is a co-pay program mandated for this program, enacted by the Florida Legislature in 1995. The co-pay is based on the client's monthly income.


COMMUNITY CARE FOR THE ELDERLY ( CCE)

State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs
The basic purpose of CCE is to provide services to enable frail elderly persons to stay out of institutions and maintain an acceptable quality of life in the community and avoid nursing home placement. Today, CCE funding is available in all 67 counties.


COMMUNITY CARE FOR DISABLED ADULTS

State of Florida Department of Children and Families
This program philosophy and goals are that disabled adults between the ages of 18 and 59 have many unmet needs.


HOME CARE FOR THE ELDERLY PROGRAM (HCE)

State of Florida Department of Elder Affairs
The HCE Program is to encourage the provision of care for elders in family-type living arrangements in private homes as an alternative to nursing home or other institutional care. Case management and subsidy payments are available to qualified caregivers and/or vendors of goods and services on behalf of eligible clients in the HCE program.


HOME & COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES/MEDICAID WAIVER PROGRAM

The Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Aged/Disabled Medicaid Waiver program provides an opportunity for adults ages 18-64 with disabilities and frail persons aged 65 years or older, who are at risk of placement in a nursing home and meet Medicaid technical and financial criteria to remain in a community setting.


OLDER AMERICANS ACT : TITLE III-B AND III-E

Services provided under this program are Homemaker, Respite Care and Personal Care.
