Monroe County Veterans Affairs has three offices located in the Florida Keys.  The main office is located in Key West and is staffed by the Director, two Veterans Service Counselors and one Senior Administrative Assistant. The office in the Middle Keys (Marathon, FL) is staffed by one Veterans Service Counselor and a Transportation Coordinator/Counselor’s Aide.

The office in the Upper Keys (Key Largo, FL) is staffed by a Executive Administrator and a Veterans Service Counselor.

All three offices help active duty personnel and military retirees as well as veterans and their families obtain federal benefits such as:

  • Insurance claims and Social Security appeals
  • Burial allowances and widows’ benefits
  • Transportation to Miami Medical Center (VA)
The department also provides assistance in obtaining State benefits such as free car tags and fishing licenses for those who are 100% service connected.
