Join us for an hour of interactive stories, songs, rhymes, and crafts. The early literacy practices featured each week help build the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.
For parents and caregivers, Story-time offers an opportunity to experience early literacy practices in action, to discover great books, music, and to socialize with other parents after Story-time

Weekend Gamers- All ages all day Saturdays
Video games in a library?! Yes we have brand new and popular games in the library. Many of the games that we have here at the library are multiplayer games that encourage team work and leadership. Yes, you can play video games at home, however here at the library kids are given a chance to interact in person with others that share similar interest, these social skills are very important. With all that fun our kids don’t realize they are actually developing some very important learning strategies. Some games (especially Nintendo games) challenge kids on their reading, mathematics, and critical thinking skills. Also games are a great way to relieve stress.

Two of the ways the Friends support the Key West Library are through book sales in the Library's Palm Garden and through ongoing book sales within the library building at 700 Fleming St. Every dollar raised during the sales goes directly back to your library. Sales are held in the Palm Garden and generally take place on the first Saturday of the month from December through April. Note that the January book sale falls on the second Saturday.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask one of the library staff members. We are always happy to help any way we can!
What is there for teens on this small island of ours? Teen time at the library! Every Saturday afternoon, the Key West Library turns its attention to Teen Time. Yeah sounds lame but it’s fun. It’s a film club, book club, gaming club and craft club all rolled up into one. We use this time to relax, unwind, play games, and just have a great time with friends
