Patricia Eables graduated in 1985 from Christian Brothers College, cum laude, in Memphis, Tennessee, having earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a minor in Marketing and Management. She received her Juris Doctor degree in 1988 from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, School of Law. From 1989 to 1994, she served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Judge John B. Plegge in Little Rock, Arkansas, with this State Circuit Court hearing civil and criminal cases. Ms. Eables is a member of the Arkansas Bar and The Florida Bar. She is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida, and the United States District Court, Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas.

Ms. Eables relocated from Little Rock, Arkansas, to Key West, Florida, in 1994. She was with a private law firm before opening her own solo law practice in 2008. Ms. Eables joined the Monroe County Attorney’s Office in October 2016. Her areas of practice have been in civil and commercial litigation, product liability defense, construction law, Americans with Disabilities Act defense, probate and estate planning, and real property law. Ms. Eables’ reported decisions include James E. Prince v. Paul E. Toppino, 834 So.2d 377, (Fla. 3rd DCA 2003).

She is active in the local community and has served on numerous committees and boards in a range of areas concerning children, the practice of law, city issues, and various other interests. Ms. Eables currently serves as Chair of the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Unlicensed Practice of Law Committee, a member of the Pro Bono Committee for the Monroe County Bar Association, is the Vice-Chair of the Bahama Village Redevelopment Advisory Committee, and is on the Board of Trustees of Our Kids of Miami-Dade/Monroe, Inc. She has served in the past as Chair of both the Key West Planning Board and the Key West Historical Architectural Review Commission where she gained experience with land development regulations and the property development process. She is a graduate of the 2004 City of Key West Ambassador program and Leadership Monroe County, Class XIV. Ms. Eables was awarded the Florida Supreme Court/Florida Bar Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono award in 2008 and 2015. She was recently honored by Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. with a Pro Bono Volunteer Award for her legal services provided in a foreclosure defense case.

Ms. Eables represents the County’s Facilities Maintenance Department and handles real estate transactions for the County.
