Originally from Madison, Indiana, Mr. Williams is a graduate of Vanderbilt University (B.S. 1992) and Cumberland School of Law at Samford University (J.D., 1996). He is admitted to practice law in Indiana and Florida. He first moved to the Keys and began practicing law in Marathon in 2004. He has practiced in a number of areas including civil litigation, criminal and land use in the private sector before joining the Collier County Attorney’s Office in 2008 and returning to the Keys to join the Monroe County Attorney’s Office in 2012. Mr. Williams’ County Attorney experience has been focused on growth management, land use and zoning representation. During the course of his practice, he has had several published appellate cases including litigation regarding access to the historic Ted Smallwood’s Store in Chokoloskee [Florida Georgia Grove, LLP v. Collier County, 95 So. 3d 948, (Fla. 2nd DCA 2012).] and large Bert Harris Act claims [Hussey v. Collier County, 158 So.3d 661, (Fla. 2nd DCA 2014).]. He became board certified in City, County and Local Government Law in 2015.
