Weekly curbside recycling collection- no charge for Monroe County residential properties; businesses
must arrange for service with local providers:

SORTED; commingled items are sorted at the Materials Recycling Facility. The Monroe County Recycling Brochure has a description of the local service areas
and the contact numbers for your neighborhood. Please call the appropriate
company to determine your collection schedule for recycling and request a
recycling bin if needed.
Place items in the recycling bin provided by the
company serving your neighborhood or any other receptacle that is clearly
marked with the word “Recycling” or the recycling symbol. Recycling bins should not weigh more than 50
pounds when full. The Monroe County Recycling Brochure has the most current information regarding
acceptable items. ONLY listed items are
acceptable - NO PLASTIC BAGS, STYROFOAM, OR TRASH IN THE RECYCLING BIN.
Recycling “drop off “- no charge for residents, visitors, businesses: All recyclables
listed in the Monroe County Recycling Brochure are accepted.
Located at Cudjoe Key (MM 21.5) and Long Key
(MM68) Transfer Stations, and the Key Largo Recycling Center, 300 Magnolia
Other Curbside Collections
Oversize yard waste - possible additional charge: Limbs larger than 4” in diameter only; must be
cut to lengths of 6’ or less. Place neatly at curb or road side without
obstructing traffic. Avoid placing under power lines. Commercial
tree removal and land clearing are not included in the solid waste assessment
for residential service. Do not mix with smaller yard waste items or
other debris, as additional charges will be incurred. Check the Monroe County Recycling Brochure to determine your service provider’s phone
number so you can schedule a pickup.
“Bulk waste” - no additional charge for residences: Furniture, appliances, car tires (without
rims), grills, bicycles and carpeting collected by request.
Separate metal items. Place neatly at curb or road side without
obstructing traffic. Avoid placing under power lines.
