Monroe Emergency Reserve Corps

Monroe County Emergency Management believes that “strengthening the Florida Keys communities through volunteerism and service” is not just a mission statement. It is a way of life.

Now, more than ever, the Florida Keys residents of all ages are ready to answer the call and lend a hand.

In 2018, Monroe County Emergency Management is creating a “Monroe Emergency Reserve Corps” that will be made up of volunteers with a variety of talents and skills who would like to help in time of emergency in the Keys.

An inaugural meeting of this new emergency volunteer program was held on May 21. It was an open discussion on how to best utilize the incredible untapped talents of the Keys residents  and build a response capability that surpasses all expectations, Monroe County Emergency Management Director Marty Senterfitt said.

If you have questions, email Senterfitt-Martin@monroecounty-fl.gov or call 305-289-6018.
