Florida Friendly Lunch and Learn: Lets Get Recognized
Friday, October 14, 2022
The Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ (FFL) Program recognizes landscapes that use sustainable landscaping practices. Florida-Friendly landscapes minimize the use of potable water for irrigation, avoid the runoff of excess fertilizers and pesticides from the landscape, and provide habitats for wildlife. They can take any form, from more traditional to more natural. It's how the landscape is designed and maintained that ultimately determines if it's Florida-Friendly.
If you are making a positive impact to the environment through your landscaping and gardening practices, find out how to get your yard recognized as Florida Friendly.
We will discuss:
An overview of the FFL principles
The potential impacts of nutrient runoff and excess water use
And the process to get your yard recognized
INSTRUCTOR: Michelle Leonard-Mularz, UF/IFAS Extension Monroe County Environmental Horticulture Agent
