KEY WEST, FL – The first American Airlines flight with nonstop service between Dallas-Fort Worth International (DFW) and Key West International Airport (EYW) arrived in Key West at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018.
Airport staff greeted the 71 passengers aboard the flight with commemorative hats.
This is American Airlines Flight #3497 is operated by Envoy and uses an Embraer 175 aircraft.
The first departing flight from Key West back to DFW left at 3:45 p.m. Saturday with 59 passengers onboard.
“Developing this new nonstop route to Dallas was a combined effort between Airport staff and the Key West Chamber of Commerce,” said T.J. Henderson, Acting Director of Airports. “We are very excited to see Dallas service begin. It will greatly improve our connectivity to the Midwest and West Coast. This will start as a weekly flight on Saturdays but we hope that it will grow into a daily flight in the future.”
Key West International Airport is owned and operated by Monroe County.
