The State of Florida has allocated $15 Million to Monroe County through the Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Voluntary Home Buyout Program. The goal of the program is to reduce the risk of flooding through the purchase of damaged or destroyed properties impacted by Hurricane Irma. The County is seeking additional applicants to ensure county residents have an opportunity to express interest in participating in the program.
This program will allow the government to purchase your property at fair market value. All structures on the property will be demolished and the property will be maintained as open space, recreation, or storm water management purposes in perpetuity.

The submission of this form for buyout does not guarantee that you will be eligible for the program. To be eligible for participation, you must meet all requirements specified in the CDBG-DR program. All details related to award amount and sales price will be determined in compliance with CDBG-DR requirements. You are under no obligation to accept the grant award.
