Public Information Meeting
Roadway Project on SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway from east of West Indies Drive
to west of Palmetto Avenue on Ramrod Key, Torch Key and Big Pine Key

Miami - The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six will hold a public information meeting about a roadway project on State Road SR 5/US 1/Overseas Highway from east of West Indies Drive to west of Palmetto Avenue on Ramrod Key, Torch Key and Big Pine Key, Monroe County, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Big Pine Key Public Library, 213 Key Deer Boulevard, Big Pine Key, FL 33043. The meeting will follow an informal format that allows the public to arrive at any time from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Graphic displays of the projects will be shown and FDOT staff will be on hand to discuss the project and answer questions.

The proposed work for the roadway project includes: repaving and re-striping the road to extend the life of the road, upgrading the signage to current standards, providing concrete slabs for access to the buses from the bus stops, extending right and left turn lanes at various locations, widening and repaving shoulders to provide bicycle access.
